Carol Fuchs

Going into the final table as a relative shorter stack, Carol Fuchs took her stand with a strong starting hand and was called by a larger stack of Frankie O'Dell who had raised from under-the-gun.

Fuchs: [As][Ks][Qh][4h]
O'Dell: [Ah][Jh][Js][5s]

Both players had double suited cards, but the flop was a disaster for Fuchs: [Th][8d][2h], since O'Dell held the nut flush blockers.  The turn sealed Carol's fate: [9h] completing Frankie's heart nut flush.  Just for good measure a meaningless [Jc] giving O'Dell a set of Jacks as over-kill and Carol Fuchs' run at the final table ended in 9th for a minimum cash of $2,040!

George Salsaa eliminated in 8th ($2,720) Event #44 $1,100 Omaha 8 or Better Final Table www.LAPClive.com

George Salsaa

After losing the majority of his stack on a cooler, when George Salsaa flopped a full house with this rolled-up Jacks, only to be counterfeited by a larger boat when an Ace landed on the river, for his opponents Aces-full!

On his final hand, Salsaa went all-in pre-flop and was called by Aitan Hillel.

Salsaa: [Ad][Ac][5d][4s]
Hillel: [Ah][Kh][5h][2c]

The flop: [Th][8c][6h], giving Salsaa a huge sweat for his Aces. The turn was a safe [3s], only to be flushed away on the river [Qh]!  George Salsaa from Las Vegas would have to wait another LAPC tournament to make a run at the Remington!

Carrillo: [Ah][Jh][4d][5s]
Cernuto: [As][Ts][8d][7c]

Mamad Arani (7th: $2,025)
A ridiculous hand played out 7-handed between two of the big stacks at the table.  We catch up to the action as there was raise, re-raise, and dual all-ins pre-flop, between Matthew Weber and Mamad Arani, with ~160,000 effective stacks.

Arani: [As][Ad]
Weber: [Ks][Kd]

The flop came: [Qh][9s][3s].  The turn came a [Td].  The river was the biggest cooler of the tournament, hence the "Breakout hand," as it rained on Mamad's parade with a [Jc]!  This gave Matthew a runner-runner King high straight!  Arani was cut down from top 3 in chips to about 10 big blinds.

Arani was then finished in 7th as he put his remaining stack into the middle and was called by Sunny Gandham who had Mamad covered.

Arani: [As][2d]
Gandham: [Kc][Qs]

The board ran out: [Ks][Js][Jc][2c][Kd], and Mamad Arani is the Iron-Man 7th place finisher for $2,025, beating out 81 other "Iron-Men" participants!

Mark Jun finishes in 6th ($2,640) Event #45 $1,100 No Limit Hold'em "Iron-Man" Tournament

Mark Jun (6th: $2,640)

As the short stack 6-handed, Mark Jun moved the his last four big blinds into the middle from under-the-gun.  He was called by the button, small blind of Vikas Sondhi and big blind.  Going to the river, the four way pot was checked down.  The board ran out: [Ts][8c][7s][7h][Jd]

Jun: [Kd][Kh]
Sondhi: [Ad][9h]

It was the biggest cooler of the tournament for Mark who played a tight aggressive game and had to dodge his fair share of all-ins to finish in 6th defeating 82 other iron-willed players winning $2,640 for his efforts!

Matthew Weber eliminated 5th ($3,520) Event #45 $1,100 No Limit "Iron-Man" Tournament

Matthew Weber (5th: $3,520)

The room stood and was whisper quite as it was hardly expected that the players were all-in pre-flop.  Kody Muir raised from the button and Matthew Weber moved all-in from the big blind.  Kody asked for a count and called.  Matthew was at risk.

Kody: [Ts][Th]
Weber: [3d][3c]

The board ran out: [Ad][2s][2h][Kd][2c] and Muir's "Deuces Full of Tens" was the best hand at showdown.  Matthew Weber played a loosed aggressive game that gave him a roller-coaster finish to land him in 5th place for $3,520!

Timothy "Pizza" Pirraglia eliminated 4th ($5,280) Event #45 $1,100 No Limit Hold'em "Iron-Man" Tournament

Timothy "Pizza" Pirraglia

As the shortest stack with less than 2 big blinds, it was limped around four handed, which prompted Timothy "Pizza" Pirraglia to move all-in from the small blind.  It was called by the rest of the players, that included Vikas Sondhi in the big blind, and was four way to the river.  The board ran out: [Th][Ts][5h][Jh][6c]

Sondhi: [As][Qs]
Pirraglia: [Qc][7s]

After Vikas showed down his Ace-Queen high, the rest of the players mucked and the Aces was the difference maker as "Pizza" was leftovers in 4th for a payday of $5,280!

Kody Muir finishes in 3rd ($8,885) Event #45 $1,100 No Limit Hold'em "Iron-Man" Tournament

Kody Muir (3rd: $8,885)

After doubling up once through Vikas Sondhi, Kody Muir went heads up against his nemesis at the table, all-in pre-flop, one last time.

Muir: [As][9s]
Vikas: [Qd][Jd]

What started off as a race between the two competitors, with Kody holding a 60/40 advantage over Vikas soon went up in smoke as the flop came: [Jh][Td][3d].  With top pair and the Queen high flush draw, Muir was drawing very thin.  The turn came a [5c], followed by a [Kd] just to drive the point home that Kody Muir was this year's Iron-Man third place finisher for $8,885!
