Lee Doubled Through Lin

Those chips didn't last too long in Yuming Lin's stack. Lee shoved all in from under the gun, and from the big blind, Erick Lee called all in for less.

Lee: [Kh][Jd]
Lin: [Ah][8s]

Lin's ace high held through the [9h][4s][Qh] flop, and the [2d] turn. However, the [Jc] on the river was one of Lee's outs, giving him the double up to over a million, and dropping Lin back under that point.

Brandon Long Eliminated in 4th Place ($41,510)

Brandon Long and Yuming Lin went heads up to a flop of [2c][9c][6h]. Lin checked to Long, who shoved all in for his final 650,000. Lin made the call, and saw he was virtually flipping.

Lin: [Kh][9d]
Long: [6c][4c].

Long needed to pair up again, or hit a club, but the run out of [3h] and [3d] provided no help.

With that, we are down to just three players. A few talks of chop have broken down, so we play on!

Erick Lee Eliminated in 3rd Place ($56,040)

On the very next hand, Erick Lee got his final chips in preflop holding [Jc][10h]. He was trailing the [Ad][6d] of Sean Yu, and Yu's hand held on the flop of [Kc][Ks][8d]. The turn though was the [10s], and Lee was now in the lead.

Not for long though, as the [As] came on the river, giving the red hot Yu another bounty here at this final table. That gets us to heads up, with Yu holding a hefty 6.1 million to 1.9 million edge over Yuming Lin.

Yuming Lin shoved the very first hand of heads up, and after getting a count, Sean Yu folded. On the next hand, the two got it in after a flop of [Ks][Jc][9d]. Yu's [Kc][8s] was trailing the [Kd][Qh] of Lin. The board completed [As] and [10d], giving Lin the double up to over three million.

Sean Yu and Yuming Lin were playing what looked to be a fairly routine pot when the river came on a board showing [9c][7d][6d][3h][4h].  Yu fired out 400,000, and Lin raised it up to 1.2 million. Yu thought for a few moments before shoving all in, and Lin made the call.

Yu showed [8h][5d] for a flopped straight, and Lin could only muster up [9h][5d] for a lesser straight. The chips were counted down, and Yu doubled up to over 7.4 million, leaving Lin with ten big blinds.

Yuming Lin was down to just eight big blinds when he got it in holding [Qs][9h]. He was flipping against the [4d][4h] of Sean Yu, and a nine on the flop gave Lin the lead. Yu wasn't able to catch up, and he sends a small double up across the table.

Sean Yu limped the button, and Yuming Lin moved all in. Yu quickly called, and the trap was sprung.

Yu: [Qh][Qd]
Lin: [Ac][3s]

Lin asked for an ace, and he didn't get it. However, the flop of [5h][2h][4s] did give him a straight. Yu could only catch runner runner to win, and the [Kh] on the turn was half of that. However, the [7s] on the river was no good, and Lin doubled up to 1.6 million, leaving Yu with 6.4 million.

Congratulations to Sean Yu, Winner of the 2015 LA Poker Open Main Event ($124,590)

Just two hands later, Sean Yu was finally able to put the tournament to rest. On the turn of a board showing [Jd][9s][8h][2s], Yuming Lin shoved all in after Yu put out a bet. Yu snap called, and told his rail he flopped the nuts with [Qs][10s]. Lin was drawing dead with [9h][7d], and the meaningless river was the [Kh].

Lin will take home $87,170, but the night belonged to Sean Yu! He will take home the full first place prize of $124,590, as well as a $10,000 seat to the LAPC Main Event next year!

Congratulations to Sean Yu, and thank you to everyone who came out to this year's LA Poker Open.  See you guys in January for the 2016 LA Poker Classic!

Nguyen Doubles Through Umerova

On one of the first hands of the heads up battle, Dylan Nguyen and Safiya Umerova tangled in a huge preflop clash that saw Nguyen secure a big double up.

Action started with Umerova limping in on the button. Nguyen made it 140,000 to go, and Umerova responded with a reraise to 340,000. Not to be outdone, Nguyen came right back with another raise to 840,000, leaving himself just 600,000 behind.

This sent Umerova deep into the tank, and she began talking to Nguyen. "Kings?" she asked. Nguyen had his eye on the Cardinals Packers game, either as an interested observer, or as a way to not give anything off to Umerova. She wracked her brain for a few minutes before announcing all in, and Nguyen quickly called.

Nguyen: [Kh][Kc]
Umerova: [Ad][Jh]

Nguyen held a huge advantage, and he never let it go, as the board ran down [Qs[2h][5d][7d][8c]. With that hand, the two are virtually even in chips, with Nguyen holding an edge of 2.8 million to 2.4 million.

Dylan Nguyen had just knocked Safiya Umerova down to her last 10 big blinds when she shoved her final 505,000 into the middle. Dylan Nguyen took a look at his cards, and asked for a count. He didn't seem too thrilled by the situation, but ultimately, he dropped in a few chips to make the call.

Umerova: [Qc][4h]
Nguyen: [Jd][8d]

Umerova did hold a slight advantage, and while the flop of [10s][9d][4c] didn't hit Nguyen directly, it did give him more outs with the open ended straight draw. The [Kh] on the turn took away his jack outs, but the [8c] came on the river, giving Nguyen a winning pair of eights.

Umerova takes home $18,700 for her efforts, while Nguyen will take home the Remington trophy, and a full first place payday of $26,715.

Tomorrow we have our first $350 buy-in $100,000 Guaranteed Bounty tournament. For this event, players will be given $100 every time they knock a player out. That tournament starts at 1 PM, with registration open until 5:30 PM. All players have one optional re-entry they can use in that time frame as well.

We will also have the finals of today's $150,000 Guaranteed Event kicking off at 2 PM. The survivors today will be duking it out for a first place prize of $36,080. And lastly, we will be running our nightly $1,100 satellite guaranteeing at least two $10k Main Event seats. See you guys tomorrow!

The first Sunday of the 2016 LA Poker Classic is now underway here in the tournament area! Today the bounty hunters are out in full force for another $100,000 Guaranteed Bounty Event. This tournament is a one day event with registration open until 5:30 PM. Every time you knock out a player, the floor staff will hand you $100 on the spot! All players are allowed one re-entry during the registration period. Good luck players!
